Paralympian Kurt Fearnley 'confused and disheartened' over NDIS funding shift
We are also 'confused and disheartened' over the current political debate about top up funding for the NDIS being sourced through cuts to social services.
The NDIS was founded on the basic human rights of all citizens to live full and meaningful lives and be able to actively contribute to the community.
The NDIS needs to be appropriately funding so that it can provide the positive economic returns identified by the Productivity Commission, but as Kurt says, it is wrong to draw a line between funding for the NDIS and cuts to funding for other vulnerable people.
