2018 National Developmental Educators' Week
19-Nov-2018
Today kicks off the 2018 National Developmental Educators' Week and we can't wait to celebrate!
Developmental Educators (also known as a DE) support people with a disability to learn new skills and increase independence across all areas of life. This support may be in the form of teaching new life skills, creating specialised programs or strategies, developing and implementing Positive Support Plans and everything in between.
The extra special thing about a Developmental Educator is that Flinders University here in South Australia are the only institution to offer study to become a DE!
Here at disAbility Living we have four DEs in our Developmental Educator and Specialist Services (DESS) team. Each member of the team has their own skill-set that can be tailored to each client, outlining the person-centred approach that we love.
Check out our new DESS team Facebook page to follow all that our DEs are doing, and find out what they can do for you!
